Anaario
India's No.1 Sustainable Kidswear
About
About Anaario
Anaario is a made-to-order sustainable kidswear label based in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, founded in 2020 by designer Meenal Malhotra. Anaario was born out of a simple observation: while adult fashion had begun paying attention to sustainability, children’s clothing remained squarely in the fast-fashion cycle of overproduction, synthetic fabrics, and disposable trends. Meenal set out to change that by building a kidswear brand where every garment is created only after a customer orders it — a model that keeps waste, overstock, and unnecessary fabric consumption out of the equation from day one.
The brand designs for children aged six months to fifteen years, covering baby wear, girls wear, boys wear, and a small range of home linen. Collections include dresses, rompers, co-ord sets, jumpsuits, ethnic wear, nightwear, shorts, skirts, swimwear, and hair accessories, alongside baby essentials like blankets and napkins. Rather than chasing seasonal trends, Anaario designs capsule collections meant to be worn across seasons and passed down, in keeping with a slow-fashion philosophy that treats children’s clothing as something to be cherished rather than discarded.
Certified Organic, Made-to-Order
Anaario’s sustainability credentials are backed by recognised certifications rather than marketing claims alone. The brand’s fabrics are GOTS certified (Global Organic Textile Standard), confirming that the cotton used is grown and processed according to strict organic and environmental criteria, and carry OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification, which verifies the absence of harmful substances — an especially important assurance for garments worn against a child’s skin.
The made-to-order model is central to how Anaario operates. Instead of manufacturing large batches in anticipation of demand, the brand produces each piece only once an order is confirmed. This eliminates the unsold inventory and fabric offcuts that plague conventional apparel manufacturing, and it allows Anaario to offer customisation — parents can request size or design tweaks that a mass-produced piece could never accommodate. The brand also sources Italian and organic cotton, and many pieces feature hand-block printing and screen printing techniques carried out by artisan hands rather than industrial automation, adding a layer of craftsmanship to the sustainability story.
Rooted in Meerut, Worn Across India
Anaario operates out of Meerut in Uttar Pradesh, a state with a long-standing textile and handicraft tradition, and ships its made-to-order pieces across India and internationally. Despite being a relatively young label, Anaario has earned recognition within the country’s fashion retail circuit — its collections are stocked by established multi-designer platforms such as Aashni & Co, Ogaan, and AZA Fashions, placing it alongside more established names in India’s designer kidswear space. The brand has also been featured in press coverage discussing its use of organic fabric to support more sustainable clothing choices for children.
For Anaario, sustainability isn’t confined to the fabric alone — it extends to the intent behind the brand. Meenal has spoken about wanting to “ignite change from a young age,” using children’s clothing as a quiet, everyday way to introduce the next generation to more conscious consumption habits. The idea is that a child who grows up wearing thoughtfully made, durable, organic clothing absorbs a different relationship with fashion than one raised on synthetic, disposable garments meant to be outgrown and tossed within a season.
